Just wanted to pop in real quick to let you in on something cool!
Throughout this whole house process Mike and I have been praying that God would make His plan known to us, and to open and shut doors an necessary. As we got further and further into the process it seemed like all the right doors were opening, so we began to pray that God would put roadblocks in our way if it was not His will for us to get the house...because all we were seeing were open doors. Everything was falling into place.
Well, to opt-out of our lease with the apartment, we had to make a decision of whether to pay 2 months rent up front and get out of our lease, or hope that someone else wanted to lease our apartment before we offically turned the apartment back over to the leasing office. If someone else leased our apartment by the time we were ready to leave, then we were off scot free...but if they didn't then we would be responsible for the remainder of our lease...all paid up front. We have 7 months left on our lease, so that would be well over $5000 that we would be responsible for. However, all we have heard from people who have done similarly is to choose the second option, because there is generally a waiting list for the apartments. So, 2 months ago we decided to tell the apartment office that we were going with option 2, and we began praying that someone would rent our apartment, so we didn't have to pay anything extra.
Fast-foward to last week. Our apartment STILL hadn't rented, in fact there were 2 apartments in front of ours on the list. I was beginning to get worried, but I tried to remain steadfast in the faith that God had made the way for us to get this house...so He would take care of the details as long as we did our part. Mike and I felt a peace that one way or another it would work out...even if that meant trying to come up with extra money.
Well, believe it or not...God made it happen. I called the leasing office yesterday to get an update and to figure out what was needed to turn our apartment over to them this weekend. OUR APARTMENT HAS BEEN RENTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a sigh of relief! God is so good.
Just wanted to share that with you all. It encouraged my heart, as well as Mike's...and I hope it has encouraged you as well. God still cares about our individual lives, and He is intimately involved in the details.
Hope you each have a wonderful weekend!!
