lately, you've been showing me what a big boy you're becoming. you would think that every woman and girl MUST be your girlfriend...you certainly charm them, and they LOVE you. everywhere we go people comment about your cool hair, your big smile, and your sweet disposition. you make me look good, dude! you make me look like super-parent...parent of the best behaved, sweetest kid around.
you love to let out big belly laughs when you think something is funny...most of the time you giggle out loud when other people are laughing and having a good time. you just want to get in on the fun, too! other times, i can get you laughing so hard by blowing raspberries on your belly, talking to you in funny voices, and throwing you up in the air. those times with you are some of my very most favorite...they speak so clearly to your personality.
the other day a woman who helps in the church nursery came up and told me that every time she spends time with you, you bring her so much joy. she told me that her heart is blessed when she gets to interact with you...and like every one else, she thinks you have the COOLEST hair! it makes me proud that you are already a blessing to others, and i hope that this is an ingrained part of your personality in the future.
you have been sitting up on your own for about almost 4 months now, and have been froggy crawling around for about 2 months. your nana's get such a big kick out of how fast you can get from one place to another by crawling like a little frog. you are determined and focused when you get your eye on something you want. it is only a matter of time before you go scooting away to attain your prize.
i am in awe of how i can almost watch your brain process and work to learn new things. tonight you figured out that you could share your beloved paci's with your momma. i was sitting with you in your room, and as we were rocking...you popped your paci out and held it up to my mouth so i could have some, too. when i popped it in my mouth you sat, content for a moment...and then just like that you popped it out of my mouth and back into yours...triumphant. we played that game for about twenty minutes! finally, you put the paci back in your mouth and started sucking happily and your eyes drifted closed. those are sweet times for me. i love it when your body relaxes and for a few moments you drift from being an almost-toddler back into babyhood. your little man body melts into my momma body and we just rock in silence for a bit.
i so love being your momma, sweet boy. i hope you always know that.
